I think this is the right move. They started on MacOS. They expanded to Linux and Win for reasons that were unclear (to me). If they can’t keep all three going, open-sourcing the code is appropriate. If people want to keep going, awesome. If not, well… And they refocus their resources to the platform that they presumably consider their primary home, else they wouldn’t have started with MacOS first.

I have Orion installed and occasionally use it. But I’m also a browser junky and can’t resist trying every new browser I read about. (I’m posting this from the recently announced Search browser and it’s using impressively low system resources. I recommend test driving it if you’re curious. I’m not affiliated in any way).

I dunno, install an interesting OS or distro and use it as a throwaway sandbox for learning. Or turn it into a makeshift router (not via installing pfsense or other router OS, but by configuring network services by hand in Debian or Ubuntu). I tend to want to use redundant hardware to learn new skills.

My favorite part is how he was the only one who could prevent new wars. And stop existing wars. It’s pretty cool how now there’s no more wars. Amerika is finely great again.

I imagine the women I would want to meet would skip over profiles with photos like these the same way I would skip profiles with women holding guns, posing next to sports cars, or taking selfies in the mirrors of public bathrooms. I’m pretty sure Ed Zitron has been keeping pretty good accounting numbers. Whether you think his predictions are right or wrong (the hype has outlived even my expectations), I think he’s right about how much debt has been generated vs how much cash will be needed to service that debt and it seems highly unlikely that we aren’t letting these companies pretend there’s a pot of gold under every blade of grass to our own detriment.

I bought an M1 MacBook Air as my first Apple Silicon Mac when they hit the market (longtime Mac user, so direct comparison to Intel Macs). It blew me away. Still have it, despite replacing it with a MBP. At this point, it’s the extra screen off to the side playing videos while I nerd out in my office, though it can do much more.
