Yeah, it’s a cat and mouse game for sure. I think if you do anything that is more than voluntarily give your data to them, that’s a win. I hope that at least I’m wasting some of there resources even if some data base has linked me to the trash email.
I also love when reps ask for my email in person. I love spelling out “trash” phonetically and watch there face connect the dots. Also my domain is let’s say … Not user friendly and I say it fast and hope they miss hear or type and it’s wrong because of them.

I agree!
The way that I combat this is that I have my own domain and make a [email protected] and that’s all they get from me.
I can get the verification link and the rest goes to a box called “the void”. The void auto deletes every night.
Same with my wife… But I just remind her that she is not a fish and she thinks about it for a second and she stops hiccuping.
Being that you are 20 years in the blog space, you may not like my answer.
I had a similar experience as you. I was using ghost blog. I thought it was going to make having a blog so much easier. It didn’t.
Anyways, I looked and looked and tried a few and nothing felt right.
I settled on learning HTML and CSS using docker ngnx server to dish out my index page.
Making everything the way you want it is so much more pleasing than the cookie cuter blog platforms. Learning everything took a few days of studying and watching YouTube videos. But eventually you pick up enough to online search your way out of something you may not have learned or forgot.
This makes having a blog so basic and and small of a program and storage space. Super lightweight.
