See the good. Yes, the church has a past (and present) fraught with problems and unforgivable acts, but if you think one person, even its supreme leader, can stop it during their lifetime, you’re overly optimistic. Do you think replacing the president will fix the US? Do you think Japan is unlovable now because of what they did in the past?
This is me entering a mall in the Philippines from September 1st onwards
“Of course they can haul away people, they’re enforcing the law!” … “Hey, let me go, this is illegal!”
Not anymore, it’s not. People need to keep in mind that concentration camps were legal in Germany in the 30’s and 40’s.
Just non-negotiable moral compasses in general. “Yeah, he’s obviously an obnoxious racist, chauvinist, paedophile, warmongering, corrupt fascist pig, but have you seen the Dow lately?”

Wouldn’t advise them to do that if they rent a car in Norway. The fine is about $1100 if they’re caught, plus three points on the license.

To be honest, that’s a very expensive solution to feed what sounds like an internet addiction. I have a Pixel 8 Pro too, and it’s still in as-new condition. I’ll keep it till it breaks by itself

The shower is the one place where I can have some peace and switch off. No news, no noise, no immediate crises that need solving. Just listen to the running water, enjoy for a bit, feel a little bit more relaxed and clean afterwards. A phone would achieve the exact opposite.

Why in the world would I bring the phone in the shower?
An uncanny resemblance to Dave Levene.

I don’t understand why anyone would be scarred by that. All we had to do was follow the damn train.

It’s not about the lack of difficulty, it’s about the lack of quality and thought that has gone into making this. Large publishers are now convinced that effortless crap like this is the way to go because it will sell anyway, thus dragging down game quality in general.
Train goes high till the last second. If it goes low, it’ll get slapped off the track and winds up all over the dishwasher.

And the tags get exponentially more forceful as they chase each other down the street, through the park, across a university campus, over the basketball course, until it devolves into a full-on fistfight in the girls locker room ending with Adam Sandler delivering an overly dramatic tearful confession about how he actually cheated at tag that time in school because he was jealous that his friend spent more time with cute Amy, because he missed his friend so much. That means his friend was actually the one who was “it”, so they chase each other again.
Oh-hohoh, you think it ended? The embers have been lying there since then, glowing with rage. There’s still plenty of people left in the generation that benefited most from power and corruption in the CCCP.

This is also a question for our friends in the UK: if I weigh 13 stone, would those be large stones or just medium ones? Would those stones be granite or some other type? I’d prefer pumice, if I can have that.

Canadians are surprisingly confusing with their measurements when they’re so easy to understand about most other things.

This rings true. Of course, you can get the odd philanthropist here and there, but they’re the exception. One of the problems other than the billionaires’ insatiable greed is that they know how much everyone hates them. And instead of showing people that they’re worthy of love, they choose to hate everyone right back. Where this circle started is like the chicken and the egg.
Wikipedia rabbit holes. Start on one subject that randomly popped up in my brain, and off we go.
