There’s an entity in the Cthullu-verse that turns everybody that looks at it crazy because of its sheer complexity, isn’t there?

My bet is that they will turn into “fighting colors” and try to show off to the mirrors.
When asked by a reporter if the black ink was meant to intentionally obscure, Goss countered, “Good God, why?”
The Onion archives is an incredible place :)
Also, the reasoning for buying the markets is about the same as for hiring AI today!

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Star Wars vs Star Trek: a guide [Tommy Siegel]
72·8 days agoNah, don’t put the blame on ep. IX mess into VIII. It also ignored everything set up on the previous movie, and even if it didn’t, there wouldn’t be any need for it to suck that much.

memes@lemmy.world•Latex is quite a pain in picture placement and adjustment ngl
3·13 days agoIf you are having that much pain with the picture placement, odds are you are using LaTeX for the wrong thing, and should be writing something like HTML or SVG.

Images are always a bit of a pain. But if it’s that much, you are doing something that LaTeX just doesn’t want you to do.

It makes a queue without loading the DB.
ACID DBs don’t scale indefinitely, and it’s a very easy win if you are having performance issues even before scaling them.

Oh, that video is on YT… At some point he waves around, so no.
Also, I couldn’t see any wires, but that’s not a really definitive piece of information. Those are easy to conceal.
And the speedup between the third and fourth lines is way larger. Probably on the thousands. While the last time-span is reasonable.
If you need swap, you probably should look at the tradeoffs of a file vs. a partition, or maybe even adding another entire disk.
But if you don’t know if you’ll need it, it’s because you won’t.
