  • Dominos thin crust. large with pepperoni and veggies is only 1600 calories. They got a deal (on their website, gotta go to the menu and click it after adding pizza to cart) makes it 9.99. They also let you round up your order to donate to St. Judes Hospital.

I was strict about dieting for a long time, no pizza for years, because I wanted that six pack. I got that six pack. Immediately afterwards, I ate a whole pizza. The flood gates opened. I ended up eating like 6000 calories everyday for 2 weeks. Got sad at my bloated body without a six pack. Got back to my 1200 calorie workout everyday diet. Three days of that, weighed myself, the whole adventure only gained me 5 lbs. Would do again.

  • wasn’t Genghis Kahn like, famously benevolent to his men and tolerant of other beliefs and customs?

The principal source of steppe wealth was post-battle plunder, of which a leader would normally claim a large share; Genghis eschewed this custom, choosing instead to divide booty equally between himself and all his men.[209] Disliking any form of luxury, he extolled the simple life of the nomad in a letter to Changchun, and objected to being addressed with obsequious flattery. He encouraged his companions to address him informally, give him advice, and criticise his mistakes.[210] Genghis’s openness to criticism and willingness to learn saw him seeking the knowledge of family members, companions, neighbouring states, and enemies.[211] He sought and gained knowledge of sophisticated weaponry from China and the Muslim world, appropriated the Uyghur alphabet with the help of the captured scribe Tata-tonga, and employed numerous specialists across legal, commercial, and administrative fields

  • Even if the world sucks, the logical, smart response would not be despair and depression, because that fixes nothing.

How logically do most people act, in your estimation? How logically would they act, if an unbearable depression descended upon them through looking at the shape of the world today? How many active genocides are taking place? How quickly will climate change destroy our way of life, and is there anything you, as an individual, can do to stop it? What about food and water insecurity being faced by millions of people? Millions of Americans, even? Lack of healthcare, the widening income gap between the 1% and everyone else? What can you logically do to address these global, ever worsening issues?

Perhaps the fact that you can’t do anything about these very real issues can also be a source of depression? Especially when you’re struggling just to keep your head above the metaphorical water?

One of the last vestiges of hope is a belief in karma. That the evil people perpetuating these evil things will one day face justice. But that’s not true, is it? kissinger never faced consequences. Somehow I doubt trump or netenyahoo will either.

I imagine your answer is probably something along the lines of “focus on your immediate needs and community.” Which boils down to, ignore these problems, because there’s nothing you can do. Kinda like telling an employee aboard a star ship to tidy their working area as the main computer counts down the self-destruction sequence.

I, for one, cannot imagine that Sisyphus is happy.

  • Now that’s no reason to give up. After COVID hit, I had a coworker that was anti-vaccine, and she talked to me about it, because she assumed I was as well. I had mentioned something about how whenever I accidentally drop food on the floor, I eat it as a challenge to my immune system. She expected that that thought carried over to vaccine hesitancy. I later sent her an e-mail telling her that my trick of challenging my immune system, was exactly what vaccines were. Then dove into what vaccines actually are and how they work. She later thanked me, and said that I helped her and her husband finally go and get their shots. It was real cool.

So, sometimes, if you approach it the right way, you can still change peoples minds.

Not like I’m an expert though, I’m still running into a brick wall of willful ignorance every time I try to engage with my trump loving parents 🙄

  • In the final days of February, the Trump administration demanded an overwhelming aerial assault. More than 1,000 Iranian targets were hit within the first 24 hours alone. That order compressed the time frame for finalizing targets, the officials said, instilling an urgency that — combined with gaps in underlying information about the site, cuts in civilian-protection personnel and an overreliance on artificial-intelligence technology — set the stage for the deadly error.

Ah so the head pedophile in charge demanded something unreasonable, so they cut all the corners they could and ended up killing 123 children. Super cool. This is AI’s fault because…? That site had been operating as a school for a decade. They can’t blame flawed intelligence, it was their own gross negligence and lack of review.

You remember how DOGE cut a bunch of government funding by random keyword searches? And they ended up banning super important research into using gene editing as a life-saving tool because the work was being done on transgenic mice? And they searched “trans” and then defunded it?

So this is like that, except instead of funding being cut, they murdered 123 children.

trump should rot in prison till he dies.
