He is a gamer billionaire. That’s even more appealing than space billionaire.

IIRC you can’t grant the permission if the app doesn’t explicitly declare it in its manifest. I doubt most devs would care unless access to local network is required for app’s functionality on typical user’s setup (e.g. if it’s a companion app for some device).

Companies that make “boring” games are often great workplaces, while those that make bestsellers (such as CD project red, rockstar, etc) are shitholes putting workers through hell and constant crunch.

Devs are lazy. Any productivity gains are negated by them simply choosing to work less and have more free time. Which is not a bad thing.

The biggest hurdle are messengers, especially including cross-platform support and mobile devices.
She is the queen of the Oldest House.
Jesse Faden would manage it just fine.

AFAIK compilot just provides integration with visual studio and GitHub, it doesn’t have its own models. You pay through Microsoft to use use other companies’ models (like GPT or Claude). Though agent harness itself has a big impact on the performance of models.

Which ones don’t support it? It’s a very old format at this point. Every Android device in existence can work with it for example.

You can self host xray or sing-box server (which implement many of the protocols) on a cheap vps. A lot of documentation is not great and is either in Chinese or Russian but it’s doable. There are also paid services offering vless with various degrees of reliability and sketchiness.
Of course the real challenge when living in an authoritarian country is how to pay for it. I.e.you need to buy a vps abroad. I guess it will be easier in USA then in countries under sanctions or with internal restrictions where people generally can’t use Visa or PayPal.

Protocols that mimic regular https traffic in a way that survives DPI. There are many variants like vless+reality+vision, naiveproxy, etc. It’s still cat-and-mouse game since government’s DPI systems are constantly improving.
Anything that requires radio is inherently unreliable. Radio is too easily regulated and controlled.
The only option in a hostile state is to use existing communication channels. Such as encrypted networks (or just vpns/proxies) over regular internet that pretend to be https traffic. This is what works now in China/Russia/etc.

Not if they start using DPI and block VPN protocols. VPNs that use OpenVPN, Wireguard and other non-censorship-resistant protocols (including Mullvad) don’t work in China, Iran or Russia.
Mullvad and other mainstream VPN providers only work in free countries where VPN is allowed.

They are all going to be horny, that’s the entire point.

There is zero chance it will be released (even if it’s true)

Firefox tries but this is very hard to fight against. Most of the obvious holes were closed long ago. Now these fuckers use normal browser functionality that can’t be disabled and record how it subtly differs (in various ways like execution time of functions) between different combinations of browsers, OSes, hardware, etc. This information alone is enough to create a more or less unique fingerprint.
The only reliable solution is to completely get rid of client-side code execution like JavaScript and WebAssembly and return to static web pages. Which of course won’t happen.

My guess is that if they get there (a very big if) then they will just copy a microtransactions model that every online game has.

They can still sell ships after releasing the game. Sure there will be a bit of a shitstorm they promised not to do that but their cult will survive it.
Someone at Microsoft is really mad that it was Amazon who profited from Fallout tv show.
