  • I did see a few studies about muscle shrinking in general when I looked for this one. They all were fairly small, though and not that long ago. Hopefully scientists are developing/working on larger, more conclusive studies. But those take time, unfortunately.

One study of 106 people found that muscle loss stabilized after 12 months, but it was very clear how small the study was and which participants dropped out because they had to go off the drugs.

Scientists seem to be avoiding making strong statements about this for usual scientist reasons - they want to see larger better studies. As a layperson, however, I’m definitely keeping it in the back of my mind and if a doctor recs the drug years from now, I’ll be looking up what conclusion they came to.

  • No of course not! Then I’d be using the language of the left (treating empathy as a virtue) to try and communicate with her. She needs to figure out how those DEI labeled things would personally help her and her loved ones. I’m already on thin ice suggesting she should learn about things before cementing an opinion.

But…if this one thing she learned about would have protected her from being sad, maybe there are other things? Maybe she or her loved ones won’t eat glass in the future if there are third parties making sure there is no glass in popsicles? Wouldn’t eating glass make her unhappy? Don’t companies keep accidentally getting glass in our food now that there is less money for the government to go around and check? Sure, a liberal might also eat glass and that would be cool and fun, but - oh no! I fucked up! Now Chrissy is entirely antiregulation until someone she knows is actually poisoned.

  • Google licensed Reddit’s content to improve AI-generated search summaries. Those summaries frequently answer users’ questions by drawing from Reddit discussions without requiring users to click through to Reddit itself. The arrangement generates licensing revenue, but it may also reduce opportunities to convert casual visitors into engaged, logged-in users who ultimately become more valuable advertising customers.

lol, yeah, that was a predictable outcome.
