Sure it’s NotTheOnion, but that doesn’t make the articles posted here any less serious. I’d say this community highlights the downright absurdity that is modern society, but that doesn’t mean the stories are lighthearted fun.

Yours was the only one I had seen actually saying something about the story in question when I first came across this thread.
It made me feel kinda gross that that was the first place most peoples’ minds went to.

And that other op is still kinda defending their original comment too.

Hope you enjoy it! I already own it, but I just wanted to come and see who got it lol.
Personally, I think it’s a masterpiece on par with the original, which is one of the cornerstone games from my childhood.

Maybe not quite “true” mining, but there’s definitely a prospecting aspect of finding a good vein. There is a mod for coring/quarrying too. There’s pretty much a mod to make any aspect of the game more/less hardcore.

From what I remember, I believe it was an Australian “moms group” that pulled that stunt.

Vintage Story is a lot like that too. The only thing is there’s no mod browser in the game, you have to open a separate window for it.

I know it’s semantics and doesn’t really matter, but it just bugs the hell out of me when people use hyperbole like that.

Thanks for letting us know not to go there.

At the very least, this post should be removed for editorializing the headline

I don’t know why you haven’t yet been banned from this community for spreading propaganda.

I just have to be “that guy” but Minecraft didn’t release a playable build until 2009, so that’s only 17 years. Not “decades.”

I think it spawned from that. Or one of those types of mods.
Basically they realized that what they wanted to do would basically make it a whole new game anyway, so they just went and made their own.

Whatever you do don’t go looking for a similar game called Vintage Story /s
VS is like Minecraft but way more realistic. There’s actual metal forging, panning, true mining, farming crops takes a lot longer, weather is a lot harsher. It’s just a more survival-heavy experience.

I was really hoping for a visual example

What’s this about soapy tits?

My very first email address was one my dad made for me on Yahoo like literally probably 20 years ago. I lost the login info for that one maybe 10-12 years ago.

What the fuck are you talking about? Are any of these sentences coherent to anyone else?
Cause I’ve read this a couple times and I literally have no idea what the hell you’re trying to say.
Well, guess I’ll start spreading the word about it here: I just got Lantern of the Laughless Saint the other day, and it’s pretty fun.
What did me on it at first was the fact that right off the bat they say they’re trying to recreate the magic that Morrowind helped us all feel back when we first played through it, and it’s hitting that certain itch ngl. It’s quite janky, as it’s early access (and the devs are kinda sorta leaning into that as well, but hopefully not too much), but there’s definitely a charm there that I’m excited to see more of in the future.
Apparently it’s also technically a prequel to another, bigger “Scrolls-like” that’ll come down the line.
