Yeah you know it’s bad when you start to use Google to search for stuff on Reddit because it’s better at doing it than Reddit’s own search.

Overall, this sounds like a really good change for Steam. Instead of Valve manually picking things, or developers scheduling specific stuff to get a slot - you will hopefully see more of what you’re directly interested in.
No this is not a good thing. It’s going to result in you just being shown the type of stuff you play. It’s literally no different to the Youtube and Facebook algorithms that just ensure you see nothing but the same shit in a different package all the time.

But unfortunately when you look at the total cost of ownership the price premium you pay for an EV over it’s ICE equivalent here in the UK and the typical ownership period of 3-4 years due to the majority being “purchased” using PCP (personal contract purchase) that has a balloon payment at the end very few pay means most people will never actually make a saving.

LLMs give you sycophantic bullshit. Tell it it’s wrong even if the response is correct and see what it does.

Man who sells guns say guns don’t kill.

Europe does not invest much into technology
We invest shitloads, we invent shitloads. The problem is you don’t hear about it because it’s bought up by US tech companies to be announced as one of their new products. Ask Americans who invented many of the key milestone technologies and they’ll reply with a list of Americans. They’re then shocked when they found out that those Americans are actually only the ones who patented it first and that it was first invented in Europe.

All my devs use them for their daily work and haven’t once questioned that it’s useful.
Not questioned that it’s useful or just told you what you want to hear? I would argue that it’s the latter, being driven by fear of losing their jobs especially given the current state of the tech sector with the amount of layoffs of devs due to them being replaced by AI.

How will “AI kill us all”? I can see it creating harm and getting people out of jobs. But kill us??
There are currently 120 dead Iranian schoolgirls as a result of AI targetting and it using 10 year old out of data data.
The IDF have been using AI for target selection in the Gaza war.
There’s been a story this week where AI was used by the US military in analysis of a Chinese cargo ship and concluded it was carrying nuclear weaponry components to Iran. The US military were planning on boarding the vessel which would be considered an act of war. Only a last minute analysis of the intelligence revealed it was false.

The internet was great until the pointy shoe brigade got too much power in tech companies.

It’s not twisting anything, it’s verifiable fact. Water temperatures in rivers in the current heatwaves we’ve had in Europe that are more than 10 degrees celsius above mean average temperatures has meant that the temperatures in rivers and lakes are already reaching levels that are causing severe issues to the wildlife and plants within them. Dumping millions of litres of hot water from power stations into them just makes a critical situation worse.
Looks like I’d imagine Transport Tycoon I used to play donkeys years ago would look if it were released today.
