Agreed. It’s art, and it’s running on consumer hardware. It’s no different than playing video games all day. The energy requirements for this are on the scale of a gaming PC, not of an AI datacenter.

I did not compare game developers to Nazis. I gave you an example where “just doing their job” is clearly not a useful defense. I was attempting to point out that “just doing their job” is actually never a good defense. It is not relevant to whether or not the job being done should be done.

I was not weighing in on whether or not adding advertisements is a bad thing. I was pointing out how flawed your logic is. “Just doing their job” is not a good defense for the job being done.

I believe that the type of people who are “corrupted” by power are typically the ones who seek it. I feel like there are plenty of people who wouldn’t be corrupted by power, but they’re the ones who do not seek power, and thus are rarely in positions of large amounts of power.
