  • Bees have a separate stomach just for storing nectar that doesn’t have any digestive juices, so it’s not vomit vomit, but they do swallow the nectar down as they drink it from flowers and then regurgitate it back up into a cell in the wax comb back at the hive. They then evaporate most of the water out of it with air from their wings. When it’s full of honey, they cap the cell off with more wax.

At some point the beekeeper takes a portion of the honeycomb out of the hive, and brushes any bees still on it off into the hive. The caps are cut off to let the honey out, and then typically it is centrifuged to get the honey out quickly. There’s a lot more details of course, but that’s the jist of it.

Pedantry time: I’m not an expert on whisky, but I doubt you could fill a tanker truck that large with just one batch of single malt whisky. If it’s more than one batch in the big tank, then by definition it’s no longer single malt, but blended whisky. Doesn’t hurt the joke any either way, just was my first thought on reading the label on the truck.

Edit: Pedantry fail. See the reply below telling me how wrong I am.

  • Yes, the land was bought with donations in an effort to protect it. What? No, at no point did they sell the land, not sure were you got that idea. The trespassers (SpaceX) vacated (took all their shit and left) the plot. It was then restored, as much as possible, to its previous state. They had hoped to get enough money to refund everyone who donated and keep the land, but their lawyers advised that the settlement offer of stopping trespassing and restoring the land was already as good as they were going to get in court. Sadly “restored” is the closest they could do to protecting it, at a high legal expense to themselves.

  • The land was bulldozed, turned into a gravel lot and used as a construction depot. CAH sued, and just before trial SpaceX offered them a settlement which they accepted. The exact details were confidential, but the land was finally vacated by the trespassers, and a local landscaping company removed the literal tons of gravel that had been compacted into the soil and restored it to a natural looking state.

Since they settled out of court, the case was dropped and the court didn’t say anything.
