My country’s national broadcaster is still fairly OK, there doesn’t seem to be any real pressure to censor specific topics or anything. The BBC on the other hand, has been losing its credibility hard in recent years with all their anti-palestine shit.
And now imagine if the US had a prominent national broadcaster. Like NPR does exist, but what if it was something that a majority of Americans watched on TV. Now imagine what would happen to it under someone like Trump.
Even Fox News has criticized him once or twice (at which point it was named communist media by MAGAts, it was hilarious). And Fox’s CEO could still decide to do whatever if he got pissed with Trump, he just happens to find it gainful being aligned with Trump.
Unfortunately, state media can be as well.
