Genuine question here. I don’t really get the idea of using print and then a pin. If I want more security, then I use the pin alone, if I want more convenience, then I use a print. Can someone please give me an example in which using both actually makes sense? I honestly don’t see how using both would benefit security, it certainly does not benefit convenience.
I can see the use of 2 factor with a PIN and then a hardware key like a yubikey, or a pin and then a password, that does make sense to me, focused on security alone and doing away with convenience.

Is there ONE person in Lemmy that’s not an asshole? I’ve been searching for non-assholes here, no luck so far.
Plus, that great feeling when we tell someone “lol, that would never happen to me, normie!”, makes the satisfaction of it worth every ounce of being an asshole.

And how exactly were we expecting it to go? ‘Kind of bad’? 🤣

Actually, I use Baikal for contacts and Radicales for Calendars. It helps me keep everything well segregated.

I have 1 Google account use specifically for spammy shit. That account is tied to a completely fictional person and lives inside 1 chromium browser.
My phones and computers have never seen a Google account other than inside the VM that runs that browser.

I’ve never been in one of those corporate controlled rolling cages, and hope to never be.

I’ve been on neo store for a couple of years for the apps that have no APIs ready in git repos (for those, Obtainium is just the greatest). I tried the new F-Droid app, and it is way smoother than the last time I tried it, and the UI improvement is amazing. They still show you apps that haven’t been maintained for over a year up front, but that’s not a deal killer.

Which is perfect for them to keep tying your profile information across the board in yet another way. Fuck that.

I going with “all of the above” on this one.

Awesome. More, I want AI to hack way more government shit everywhere. Fucking love it.

And not necessarily in this order 😒

Wao, again? The reasons why people keep using these bullshit services really make my mind spin. This is no different than people choosing to stay in a relationship with an abusing partner.
Edit: I just saw this is from last year’s leak. Still, the likeness remains.

We had a set for close to 7 years, until the drum of the dryer broke, we reached out to LG to have it replaced, and they told us we could not just get the drum, that they only sold the whole motor and drum set. We were about to move to another house, so just threw the dryer away, gave the washer to someone, and marked LG on the list of ‘Companies that will never see our money again’. Thanks for the tip on Huebsch, I’ll certainly look into it since we’re almost done building our house now and it’s the best time to get all the appliances.
Now we have a name. He probably thinks he is doing the Lord’s work with kernel-level anticheat, and we should all be grateful for his awesome contributions to gaming 🤣
