At least you got that far. Usually I run out of time before mandatory updates are done.

What do you mean, no QuickTime events?!?!
This is what I hate about New England lately, and it’s only getting worse.
The summers are too damn hot and the rest of the year is too damn dark.
Just let us switch to AST (“permanent EDT”). We are too far north and too far east in a timezone that is just too damn big. At least that’ll take care of it being too damn dark. There’ll still be sunlight left when I’m off work.
I’m sure Wall St. would love to be an hour closer to London, no?
FOMO comes along a lot when you’re younger.
Then you MO a lot, for various reasons, and you realize it’s not a big deal.
If you don’t MO, then you never develop the FO, and then next thing you know, you’re in a FAFO loop.

3·5 days agoPotato potato. They are joining the shit tier of websites that have “the result” you’re probably looking for, but won’t let you see it without logging in or using their app.
Same reason I fucking hate Instagram.
For real that’s like Dexter Morgan’s cover for why he has so many blood slides. Uhh I work in a forensics lab…duh.

241·5 days agoWhen I search for things at work, and reddit may have the top result, I stopped clicking them becasue they want me to log in.
When I search for things on my phone, and reddit is one of the top results, I stopped clicking it because now it won’t let me read it in browser, and forces me to use their app.
They got rid of old reddit.
Clearly they are trying to pad their logged-in user counts.
I’m done. I’m sorry to say that I’d rather have an AI-generated answer (that likely is citing the right answer on reddit anyway) than to give reddit the satisfaction of making me open their app or log in.
Fuck them.
Fuck spez.

1·5 days agoI kinda wonder why Trump hasn’t published a bible yet.
I’d guarantee it’d sell millions and not a single copy would be read.
You can only hear it in the right omniverse.
Really the one thing Sony has, and continues, to do right.

Square-Cube law was gonna fuck with that one way or another. A meter is a very human-oriented unit of measure – but a cubic meter of water is a fuckton more than most people have to deal with in the normal course of business.
And we’re gonna call that one gram of water?
One liter of water being 1000cc or one kilogram keeps the scales much more useful, imo. And personally, being essentially a sentient bag of water with a handful of other elements gluing it together…I appreciate that.
Ultimately it’s all the same, anyways. It’s just a matter of the words we call them, the math works out the same, if we just give them different names. That’s the point. Math is the constant. Assuming a space alien can understand Base10, we can explain the metric system in terms of universal constants that make sense in Base10.
Unfortunately, all number systems are Base10…
